Founded in 2009 and based in Ames, Iowa, iFam (International Family) student organization aims to helping international students at Iowa State have a higher quality of life – both while they are here and after they graduate through Saturday Nights meetings, events, and English Conversation classes.

I joined IFam in my freshman year of my college. iFam is my home away from home. iFam has helped me to identify my values and build a community here in Ames.

I was having a hard time coming back to campus after COVID hits since everything is online, socializing has become incredibly difficult. Thankfully I joined iFam and was able to make new some wonderful friends. People at iFam will truly treat you like family and will go out of their way to help you succeed.

I started graduate school at ISU during Covid and most of my classes were online. It was difficult to be connected to people. But IFAM was a great platform to get to know people from different backgrounds and build friendships. It's also helpful to learn about life outside of school (maintaining my own well-being) and discover answers to some crucial questions about life.
